10 Seriously Secret Disney Movie Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

1. Belle Makes An Appearance In The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

Screen shot 2013-05-30 at 17.03.35 This is my favourite Disney Easter egg of all time, and for one very precise reason: it actually makes sense. There's a genuine reason why this one could have happened, and it links both Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame together in a neat fashion. Yes, during the "Out There" musical sequence with Quasimodo leaping around Notre Dame like a certified nutcase, as the camera pans down into the streets of Paris, move your eyes down to the bottom right corner of the screen and... it's Belle! Belle can be glimpsed walking through the streets, another book firmly grasped in her hands. Why does it make sense, then? Well, it's entirely possible that Beast and Hunchback could be set at the same time in history, at some point in the late 19th century. Both stories also happen to be set in France. So maybe Belle has wandered into Paris for the day to check out some books or something, unaware that a horribly disfigured man is clambering around and singing in the bell tower above her. Or should that read "Belle" tower? (I'm so sorry). Like this article? Then why don't you check out our Pixar version?
