10 Seriously Secret Disney Movie Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

8. Magic Carpet Makes An Appearance In The Princess And The Frog

What I didn't mention in that previous entry is that there's a character called Carpet in Aladdin, who is literally a flying carpet. He flies Aladdin around and stuff, and is usually responsible for getting him out of scrapes and dangerous situations. Alas, that's the life you lead as a sentient rug, I guess. Anyway, Carpet does have another claim to fame: you can spot him during one sequence in Disney's excellent The Princess and the Frog. During the opening sequence of the movie, when we're being given a tour around New Orleans to Dr. John's "Down In New Orleans," you can briefly glimpse a woman airing a carpet on her balcony. And look at that design - it's Carpet, no doubt. Presumably this takes place hundreds of years after Aladdin, then, when our ageless rug-based protagonist has watched everyone he love perish and has settled for a life as a floor mat.
