10 Shots That Completely Killed The Magic Of Cinema

1. Hoggle Rot

Labyrinth (1986)

Probably the most tragic image from all of behind the scenes movie history, this sorry shot of the Labyrinth-starring Jim Henson creation could be the poster image for the ultimate price of fame, cruelly cast aside after his star faded, and left to rot in a piece of lost luggage.

Nineteen years after he starred alongside Jennifer Connolly and David Bowie, Hoggle was a shadow of his former self, his foamy body deteriorated and his eyes seemingly filled with the touching sadness of a harrowed war veteran struggling to convey the horrors he has seen. "You don't know man, you weren't there...!"

For anyone worried about poor Hoggle, he has now been completely restored, thanks to Doll Doctor Gary Sowatza, but there's still very little that can shake off this horrifying, tragic image. I was always under the impression that Hoggle was just a badly deformed goblin-like human, whose film career burned brightly but briefly in Labyrinth, and who retired somewhere to open a cattery, but now I know the horrible truth.
