7. Taken 4
Where to begin? Taken was a fast-paced action thriller - albeit one-dimensional in story - but it didnʼt need to be complex; its action sequences spoke for themselves. Four years later, the expected sequel came our way and we where tricked into believing it would be more of the same from the guy with a particular set of skills. In truth, Taken 2 was the definition of a dud. After arguably one of the poorest edited action movies of recent years, the franchise returned last year with Taken 3 (or should I say Tak3n?). Granted, the production value improved but the story line hadnʼt, and in parts, was even more sketchy than the second. Despite the distinct drop in quality and stinky reviews of the last two movies, the Taken franchise still makes money. And, if you have a series of movies that still manages to squeeze people into theatres and take their cash, those big wigs in Hollywood will continue to make them. We donʼt need another reason to see Liam Neeson run around and shoot-up bad guys, because quite frankly, it's become pretty boring now.

Martin Scorsese fanboy; Can prove in 140-characters why Michael Bay is a hack, and I enjoy a bit of Gridiron at the weekends.
