10 Simple Fixes That Would Have Saved The Star Wars Prequels

1. Bring In Other Writers And Directors

George Lucas went from the man that heralded the rebirth of cinematic sci-fi to a joke over the course of these three movies. Poor scripts, poor direction and too much CGI were just some of the many decisions that made the prequel trilogy far from perfect. But it wasn't all terrible either. From Darth Maul and that lightsaber battle to large chunks of Revenge Of The Sith, there are moments that are worthy of the original Star Wars trilogy. But so much of it want off on a tangent and it seems there was no one with the power to reel him in. Had George Lucas remained - like the original trilogy - the creative force but with different writers and directors in play, things may have turned out quite differently. The Empire Strikes Back is known as the cinematic classic it is largely due to the writing talents of Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan and the superb direction by Irvin Kershner. If George Lucas had used this experience to bring in other creative talents, the prequels may have turned out much better. George Lucas had vision and helped to create some amazing films. But the prequel trilogy proved that you have to be careful what you wish for. Everyone wanted Star Wars Episodes I-III, but what they got was not what you had been waiting for. Do you agree with these choices? Are there other fixes that would have improved the Star Wars prequels? Do you just pretend they never existed or are you one of those fans who love them no matter what anyone says? Please let us know in the comments below!
