8. The Interceptor - Mad Max
The Interceptor is the nickname for the Pursuit Special, the main vehicle used by the MFP (Main Force Patrol), and specifically, Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) in the post-apocalyptic Aussie world of the Mad Max movies. This is a vehicle that just screams "badass", and given how thoroughly unforgiving the various outlaws Max comes into contact with are, it's just as well. Though it's technically intended for stopping speeding perps, Max of course has other ideas, generally using his car to exact murderous revenge against the gang who killed his wife and son. The Pursuit Special appears again in Mad Max 2, though it takes a thorough beating before eventually being blown up by a booby-trap, when Max's attackers try to siphon fuel out of it, as brought a tear to the eye of any movie car enthusiast. Simply, with its front-loaded supercharger, intimidating black sheen and impossibly fast top speed, there are few better ways for a movie hero to put the fear in those who have wronged him.
