10 Smartest Decisions Made By Final Girls In Horror Movies
6. Bringing Freddy Into The Real World - A Nightmare On Elm Street
1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street introduced the world to Freddy Krueger. One of the most recognizes faces in horror, this burned figure slaughters his victims through their nightmares. Despite this, final girl Nancy Thompson held her own against the dream demon in that first Elm Street picture.
After she discovers the truth about Freddy, Nancy realizes the rules of the dream world. In the dream world, Krueger is unstoppable and will kill you. But when Thompson pulls a piece of Freddy's clothing into the real world, she realizes this is the key; by taking Freddy into the real world, he becomes tangible and therefore can be killed.
Setting booby traps in her home, Nancy uses herself as bait in order to lure Freddy out into the open. Once she's asleep, the high schooler gets close to him and wakes herself up. This enables her to bring Freddy into the real world and leads to Nancy attacking Freddy with her various traps.
Though Krueger would survive this encounter, Nancy proved herself here as a survivor. Unfortunately, the character would ultimately be killed by Freddy in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
