10 Sneaky Movie In-Jokes You Might Have Missed

5. Iron Man

Iron Man For many people, Jeff Bridges will always be The Dude, mostly thanks to just how brilliantly Bridges embodied the perennial slacker role, but also thanks to the sneaking suspicion that some film directors are borrowing Jeffrey Lebowski and adapting him slightly. For example, both The Men Who Stare at Goats and Tron: Legacy seem to pose the theory that, in an alternate universe, El Duderino may well have joined the US Army and unwittingly made officer, or become a software engineer and unwittingly made master of the Grid, respectively. And so to Iron Man, where Bridges' weapons manufacturer Obadiah Stane is surely the very antithesis of Zen tranquility. Yet director Jon Favreau just can't resist. After hearing Stane end a discussion about hippies with ''Am I wrong?'', you'd be forgiven for raising a wry grin. But, in the scene where Pepper Potts is hacking into Stane's computer, if you caught sight of one of the folders (it really is 'blink and you'll miss it') labelled 'Lebowski', you'd be forgiven if the excitement caused you to spill your beverage.
