10 Songs That Need To Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
7. Somebody to Love - Queen
Queen's sense of melodic power seems tailor-made to be used in a big budget action film. Rather than being erroneously misplaced in a movie like Suicide Squad, the enhanced falsetto of Freddie Mercury would make for a much better fit in the context of our heroes of the galaxy.
While it would probably make more sense to put something like "We Will Rock You" or "We Are the Champions" in this spot, "Somebody To Love" has a certain power behind it that could make for a much greater cinematic experience. Most of the song has the perfect amount of drama to go along with the lyric as well as a great guitar solo for any of the Guardians to mock perform to, but the true star of the show is the breakdown.
The amalgamation of different voices culminating in a Gospel choir has a beautiful build that is perfect fodder for either a montage of action or just an emotional moment. Even though the main movie centers around the gang as a whole, this could be a great character showcase for any of the Guardians, with someone like Groot or Rocket displaying all their skills in front of their heroic comrades.
