10 Spider-Man Villains Sony Should Keep (& 10 They Should Lend To The MCU)
6. GIVE UP: The Lizard
Dr. Curtis Connors is one of Peter Parker’s closest mentors — and one of Spider-Man’s greatest foes. An amputee veteran, Connors experimented with reptilian DNA in hopes to regrow his missing arm.
The experiment worked when tested on a rat — but when Connors tested it on himself, he turned into the Lizard. Curt Connors has a wife and young son — the Lizard has a hatred for all humanity.
Similar to Bruce Banner, certain stresses can make Connors transform. Unlike the Hulk, there is a cure for the Lizard’s condition. Connors/Lizard is a wildcard, which is the reason why he must be in the MCU.
A brilliant mind and a deadly condition inject uncertainty into any group dynamic. With Smart Hulk now controlling his inner beast, it makes sense for the Lizard to arrive as a new friend and potential foe.
Since a cure exists, it will be effortless for any hero to underestimate the risk of keeping Connors around — creating a situation ripe for the worst to happen to the new Avengers gang.
