10 Star Wars Clichés Episode VII Must Include

4. Cool Jedi Tricks and Powers

Another essential element of any Star Wars film is the use of Jedi (or Sith) force-related powers. Whether it be the power to influence weak minds ("These aren't the droids you're looking for"), the ability to levitate or throw objects telekinetically, the underused power to see the future, the ability to jump impossible distances (as if the Jedi were levitating themselves as they would an object), the ability to choke victims remotely, or the power to shoot lightning from their fingertips, these superhuman gifts need to be on display in Episode VII. Since Episode VII is called The Force Awakens, it seems likely at least one character will be discovering the ability to use the force. Perhaps new force abilities will be shown, such as remote viewing or scanning the past? Those kinds of powers are not so different from seeing the (possible) future and would surely help any Jedi quickly solve a mystery and identify the bad guy. As Obi-Wan would surely say, "Use the force!"
