10 Star Wars Scenes That Deserved To Be Longer

Darth Maul didn't last two minutes against Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine.

As is undeniably the case in the superhero world, there has been something of a Star Wars fatigue over recent years. Kathleen Kennedy even blamed Solo's box office failure on pumping out too much Star Wars too quickly, but thanks to the emergence of Disney+ and the franchise's rejuvenation kicked off by The Mandalorian, there will still be so much more to come in the near future.

Even in spite of just how much Star Wars has been brought to our screens over the last half century, there have been times when it just hasn't been enough.

In both the movies and in the TV shows, there have been fantastic scenes, or at least scenes with the potential to be fantastic, that were cut too short. Criminally so in some cases.

Characters that weren't given justice, plot points that were never connected or even explained properly, and huge moments in the franchise that were just glossed over in a moment all deserved better. Yes, there has been a lot of Star Wars over the years, but could there not have been just a little bit more? Just for these ten moments?

10. The Battle Of Kashyyyk - Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith

While the majority of the Clone Wars were skimmed over on the big screen, taking place largely between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the conflict between the Republic and the Separatists was brought to fans in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

That doesn’t mean that there was nothing of the battles in the movies however, as Episode III did dip its toes into the Battle of Kashyyyk. The Wookiee homeworld was being invaded in what could have been a game-changing battle (as this was a system the Republic couldn't afford to lose), and so Yoda and a battalion of clones were deployed.

Who wouldn’t want to see an army of giant Wookiees tearing countless battle droids limb from limb? Add in the clones, and of course Yoda, and this battle could have been an incredible addition to the prequel trilogy. If it was done right. Which it wasn’t.

All that was shown of the Battle of Kashyyyk was one small scene that didn’t actually show that much fighting. Blasters were blasted, but there was no real action from the Wookiees. Make this sequence longer, give the big, hairy monsters the screen time to really flex their muscles and rip some droid arms off, and this could have been awesome.
