7. Peter Cushing Was Cruel, But Rarely Uncomfortable - A New Hope

Taking his place as easily one of the most formidable faces ever to be unleashed upon this galaxy far, far away, it may actually come as a bit of a surprise to hear that the legendary Peter Cushing was actually storming around the Death Star in a pair of carpet slippers for the majority of his time on set.

With the Grand Moff Tarkin icon boasting some rather large feet, the actor would later reveal in a rather old interview (via Den of Geek) that "they hadn’t got time to have my boots made for me..." Then, after strutting around in a pair of stock shoes, the "agony" Cushing felt led to the thespian requesting for Lucas to shoot him from the waist up for the rest of his time on screen.

From that point on, Cushing was slipped into some anything-but-intimidating carpet slippers for everything from his destroying of Princess Leia's precious Alderaan, to his many exchanges with the menacing Darth Vader; a fact that will likely change the way you look at his unsettling portrayal in A New Hope forever...
