10 Star Wars Universe Characters Who Deserve Their Own Movie

2. Emperor Palpatine

A big mistake Disney made with The Rise of Skywalker was bringing Emperor Palpatine back from the dead. He was completely mishandled and if anything, it really ruined his mystique.

However, we could always see Sheev return to the franchise, but that would be in a prequel. There is SO MUCH mystery surrounding the origin of Palpatine. Ever since his "Darth Plagueis" speech, fans have been itching to explore more of the ultimate Sith. Was he the apprentice who killed Plagueis? Did he discover how to save people from death? And also...who did he have a kid with?

Rise of Skywalker opened the door to see a more human side of Palpatine. Granted, we don't want another forbidden love story in the Star Wars universe, but giving The Emperor a lover could actually add depth to the character and almost make him a parallel to Anakin.

Similar to Dooku, Palpatine would allow for a deep exploration of the Sith, while also offering political intrigue as he manages to worm his way into the senate. There is a huge amount of content surrounding Darth Sidious that could be mined for a film, or even a Disney+ series.
