10 Strange Changes Test Audiences Forced Movies To Make

5. We're Going To Need A Bigger Explosion - Jaws: The Revenge

Sometimes you just have to give the people what they want, even it it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

In the case of the fourth entry in the Jaws franchise, The Revenge, it soon became apparent that early audiences weren't fully on board with the way the underwater menace of the film was dispatched. In the original version of the flick, the Great White Delight met its end after Ellen Brody rammed the fish with Mike's boat, breaking apart said vessel via its dying flails.

This proved to be a bit of a disappointing conclusion for those offering their feedback early on, with these folks clearly angling for something a bit more action-packed and jaw-dropping when it came to the shark's death at sea.

So, the decision was made to have the shark inexplicably explode upon being pierced by the boat instead, a sequence which was thrown today five days after the film's US release, ready to unleash on those lucky fans across the pond. And, oh boy, does it show.
