10 Strange Plot Holes From Famous Movies (That Rarely Get Mentioned)

1. Aragorn Letting The Ghost Army Go - The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King

001 In the Return of the King, a massive army of Orcs and Haradrim are in the midst of completely decimating the forces of Rohan and Gondor but at the last minute, Aragorn rides in with an invincible army of ghosts that end the battle within minutes. Despite having this incredible, unbeatable army and still having a war to win, Aragorn lets all of them go. While Aragorn did give them his word that he would release them from their oath after they helped him, would it really have been that hard to convince them to go completely clean out Mordor first? How much easier would it have been for Frodo and Sam if they had showed up in Mordor and every single Orc in it was dead? They could have taken as much time as they wanted and all it would have required was a little bit of legal haggling from Aragorn. He probably wasn't good at politics after he became king. Which rarely-mentioned plot holes really grind your gears? Let us know in the comments below.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
