When Jim Carrey learned that he'd be sharing a set with the legendary Tommy Lee Jones during the shooting of 1995's Batman Forever, the comedy sensation was understandably pumped.

The same sadly couldn't be said for the man behind Harvey Dent's two faces in the Joel Schumacher flick, though, with the director eventually noting to Vulture how Jones was "not kind" to his co-star throughout the filming process.

But why was Jones so unhappy to be working alongside the star of The Mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective? Well, that was why.

As Carrey recounted to the late Norm Macdonald, Jones simply could not sanction Carrey's brand of buffoonery, telling him exactly that in the middle of a restaurant when his Riddler co-star popped over for a chat with his fellow Bat-villain.

Hearing that your colleague hates you and watching the blood drain from his face at the sight of you just before you're set to film your biggest scene together in a film was likely a rather unique experience for ol' Jim.

And despite Jones oddly losing it over Carrey's on-screen antics and perhaps not being the centre of attention for a change, the comedy legend would still later note that he loves him during a chat with Howard Stern (via Yahoo).
