8. Bill Foster In The Matrix (Ant-Man And The Wasp)

With Hollywood legend Laurence Fishburne being cast in 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, the odds of that film including some sort of nod to the Matrix - the franchise in which Fishburne played Morpheus, his most famous role - were pretty high.

And sure enough, that did come to pass - so what kind of subtle, inside-baseball reference did the savvy folks at Marvel Studios come up with?

Oh. They just wrote "Matrix" next to his head. Righto.

Though not the most creative of gags, it was an incredibly hard one to spot, and only started to circulate when the movie was able to be freeze-framed on home video. In motion, the text is blurry and tough to make out, and doesn't appear onscreen for very long - making it a challenging detail to notice on a large cinema screen.
