9. Jamie MacDonald - In The Loop (2009)
"Shut it, Love Actually! You want me to hole-punch your face?!" If you have seen the TV series The Thick Of It, you will know how brilliant Jamie MacDonald (Paul Higgins) is, as the sort of sidekick to Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi), the evil spin doctor for the government. Like the TV show, In The Loop follows a bumbling minister as he tries to fix each mistake he makes, and while Jamie only really has about ten minutes of screen-time but he is hilarious and slightly terrifying. Paul Higgins and Peter Capaldi obviously work very well together with these performances but when they're in a scene together, Jamie definitely comes out on top. If you haven't watched this film I would thoroughly recommend that you do: it's one of the best British comedies and everyone in it gives great performances.
