10 Supposedly Untouchable Movies That Need To Be Remade

1. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult film experience de rigueur. With it's wide network of boisterous fans, RHPS is a beacon for all those who aspire to embrace their "different" side. It sends a universal message that is timeless, so why not give it a shot and polish up a re-do? Why We Need It: We're in a new millennium. Leather and negatively spaced cloth has been in for some time now. What few people realize is that, in a harsh twist of irony, we already dress like the motley crew from Jim Sharman's 1975 cult classic everyday. From fishnets to corsets to speedos, this ain't nothing new. But it still gets viewers. Just ask Miley Cyrus. But With Who?: The more unknown the cast is, the better. Plus, there are lines of die-hard amateur fans who have performed it in movie theatres enough to be able to hop right onto a movie set. And Leos Carax would make for the perfect director. The Spin: Carax, coming off of the majestic, odd Holy Motors, is the new It Guy. He understands subculture and grandeur with aplomb. A Renaissance man who could turn Rocky Horror into a post-Millennial glam rock opera, Carax would turn up the sex quotient ante while delivering a fascinating interpretation that would turn Miley Cyrus green with envy. Are there any other films worthy of being remade? What would you have done differently?
