10 Surprising Things Sixties Batman Shares With The Dark Knight
2. No Superpowers At All
In building their own shared cinematic universe DC are setting aside the phenomenally popular world Christopher Nolan built with The Dark Knight films and starting from scratch. The Caped Crusader played by Ben Affleck in the forthcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is a totally different one from the one Christian Bale played one who can exist in a world with actual superheroes. The Nolan films were designed to exist in something approximating the real world. Besides the ridiculous spinal injury healing process from The Dark Knight Rises, there isn't real any element of the supernatural, or any superpowers at all. It's kind of grounded. All the supervillains lack superpowers, too. You know what is, surprisingly, the other most grounded depiction of Batman in the same way? Well it's probably pretty obvious by the fact this is the number two entry on this list. Yep, the sixties Batman was all about criminals with kooky outfits but no powers, and kind of set in the real world.
