10 Surprisingly Good Scenes In Otherwise Terrible Movies

6. Carrie Fisher's Winking Cameo - Scream 3

Scream 3 was rightly derided by critics and audiences alike. It was too jokey, too been-there-done-that, and worse still, writer and creator Kevin Williamson was no longer involved.

Somehow, screenwriter Ehren Kruger made Parker Posey unlikable, breaking some sort of unwritten Hollywood rule.

There is, however, one in-joke that works fairly well. While researching protagonist Sydney Prescott's mother's history in Tinsel Town, they come across an archivist who's seen it all. It's none other than Carrie Fisher who, by all accounts, did indeed see it all. Apart from struggling with drugs and alcohol - a fact she was blunt and open about in later years, as well as the roaring 80s (they were like the roaring 20s, but with cocaine) - she also worked as an uncredited script doctor on films you'd least suspect.

Scream 3 may lay it on a bit thick - a line about her being up for Princess Leia is a little too on the nose - but at least it knows where it's coming from. It's a far cry from the rest of the slapdash script.
