10 Tarantino Brands That Don't Actually Exist in Real Life

1. Jack Rabbit Slims

jack rabbit slims The most famous Tarantino brand is truly a marvel of scriptwriting and production design. Inserted into the Pulp Fiction universe, Jack Rabbit Slims is a 1950's themed restaurant, with everything and anything related to that decade seeping from every crevasse. From the maitre d' that looks like Ed Sullivan to a waiter dressed like Buddy Holly, Jack Rabbit Slim's (who's slogan is "The next best thing to a time machine") is the ultimate creation from Tarantino's universe that desperately needs to be real. While out on a friendly dinner date Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) dine out at Jack Rabbit Slim's. Upon walking through the restaurant and passing such other servers dressed to resemble the likes of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Martin & Lewis, Vincent sums up his initial experience quite profoundly: "A wax museum with a pulse". From the dining booths converted from hollowed out Studebaker's to a menu complete with racially biased milkshakes (a vanilla is called a Martin & Lewis and a chocolate is called an Amos & Andy) this is the ultimate fan-boy's dream come true. It all culminates and steps into mega cool when Mia forces Vincent to join her in the world famous Jack Rabbit Slims twist contest. This restaurant and the scenes really make Pulp Fiction a one of a kind work, as we have never cared so much in a film about what a character is ordering off the menu. Tarantino brilliantly creates a place that every single person who has enjoyed Pulp Fiction wishes existed. People would pay good money to dine out in an exact replica of this restaurant, and maybe one day, when Tarantino is retired and has nothing better to do he can finally bring this truly original marvel to life for all of us to enjoy.
