5. "Mercy, William..." - Braveheart
The Movie: Mel Gibson's epic tells the story of William Wallace, a Scottish commoner who revolts against the English and leads his people to "Freeeeeeedom!" in the 13th Century.
Tear Jerker Moment: Having been betrayed by his own people, Wallace is sent to London to be executed. Guys with no necks everywhere get filled with righteous indignation as they watch him get hung, drawn and quartered, but when they see his comrades in the crowd urging him to beg for mercy and a quick death, the tears start flowing. He also serves as inspiration for drunken Celts everywhere when on a night out in England by never giving in to those English b*stards... and is probably responsible for a fair few scraps on a Saturday night as a result.
