10 Terrible Horror Movies (You Couldn't Stop Thinking About)
7. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood & Honey
Awful slasher movies are of course a dime a dozen, but few truly dreadful slashers in recent memory have remained in the cultural conversation quite like Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood & Honey.
And it ultimately all comes down to the fascinatingly cynical means behind the movie's very existence, that because Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, filmmakers were then able to produce content - even horror movies starring the character - with absolute impunity.
At its core this was a generic, ultra-low budget slasher that made itself memorable because the hapless victims were being stalked by mutated backwoods versions of Pooh and Tigger.
Unsurprisingly the film's trailer ended up going viral, but somewhat more unexpectedly on a budget of just $100,000, the first Blood and Honey grossed a stonking $7.7 million globally. You couldn't make it up.
To filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield's credit, Blood & Honey 2 - which was produced for a princelier $500,000 - was a major improvement in just about every possible way.
