10 Terrible Mistakes That Almost Ruined The Marvel Film Universe For Everyone
7. Not Giving Hawkeye Something To Do
For half of the first Avengers movie, Hawkeye was a lackey to Loki. It wasn't really until the final act that audiences met the Hawkeye they came to see. Given that he's an incredibly popular character - a fan favourite, nonetheless - with one of the best ongoing comics in the industry, this was seen as a big problem in 2012 and the bitterness still resonates now. It essentially ruined the movie for some people and annoyed actor Jeremy Renner to the extent that he spoke publicly about it. If Marvel's President, Kevin Feige, is to be believed (and why wouldn't he be?), Hawkeye is set to have a much more pivotal role in the sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and could actually be key in the titular villain's demise. It's nothing more than a classic character deserves and it would go a long way towards appeasing the fans who were so disappointed by his undoubted misuse in the first instalment.
