2. Paul Newman - The Silver Chalice
Paul Newman's storied career needs no introduction as he is one of Hollywood's most treasured actors, but until his last breath he hated his debut movie. Newman has appeared in great films such as The Hustler, Hud, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Cool Hand Luke, The Color of Money and Road to Perdition but he was always ashamed of The Silver Chalice. Newman was active in preventing people from seeing the movie as it gained attention after his rise to fame and he took out advertisements telling people to avoid the movie.
The Silver Chalice is excruciatingly long, boring and poorly directed and certainly no Cool Hand Luke. In the words of Newman, it was "the worst motion picture produced during the 1950's." Thankfully for everybody, Newman's ads seemed to work and the movie has long since been forgotten despite a DVD release in 2009.
