10 Terrifying Basement Scenes In Horror Movies
4. Annabelle
Everyone has probably seen what older dolls looked like and thought "THIS was meant to be played with by children?!" And everyone's concerns were proven right when the movie Annabelle came out.
During this movie's basement scene, the main character Mia is putting something away in the apartment's storage area when suddenly she starts hearing noises, and a baby carriage rolls in from seeming nowhere. When Mia goes to check the baby carriage out, a shadowy hand grabs her arm and begins carving a demonic symbol into it.
Mia breaks away and runs to the elevator. This is when the audience can fully see the demon that possessed the Annabelle doll just standing there, menacingly, at the end of the pitch-black hallway.
Mia tries to use the elevator to escape but its doors keep opening and the elevator shuts down, forcing Mia right back into that hallway. It's a truly tense scene that seems to go on forever as both the camera and the demon follows Mia all the way up from the basement right to her apartment.
Ironically, this scene doesn't even have the Annabelle doll in it, and yet it is one of the scariest scenes of the entire film.
