10 Terrifying Horror Films That Will Haunt Your 2015

1. It

Release date: 2015 Stephen King's daunting masterpiece is a proper door stopper of a novel, a 1,138 page epic about childhood fears come real, and how those still haunt people long into adulthood. For years there's been chatter about finally adapting it to the big screen, but the length has seen the 1990 television mini-series seem like the ideal filmed version. At least, it was until Hollywood realised it could split books up into multiple films, usually because they're desperately clinging onto their mega-popular young adult novel adaptations as they enter their final parts. With It, breaking the film into two seems like it might actually serve a creative purpose. Huzzah! And double huzzah because Cary Fukunaga is set to direct both films, the first set in the past and the second the present. Fukunaga had already impressed with his Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre adaptation, but it was his atmospheric, masterful work behind the camera on this year's True Detective that really impressed. Nothing has been cast yet, and a firm release date not given, but with Fukunaga's literary sensibilities applied to Stephen King's scariest story? That's going to be a must-see. Coincidentally, circus attendances in 2015 might be at an all time low...
