10 Terrifying Horror Movie Deaths You Don't Remember

2. Anna - The Helpers

Known as No Vacancy in certain markets, 2012's The Helpers is a grim, grim movie that has a little bit of The Strangers and a sprinkling of Hostel to it.

A picture that may have flown under the radar of some, this Chris Stokes-helmed offering is extremely sleekly made, has some brilliant performances on show, but is one of those movies that's a genuinely tough watch at times. On that topic, the second act demise of Rachel Sterling's Anna is a particularly gnarly death to sit through.

Premise-wise, The Helpers finds a group of pretty young things stranded in the middle of nowhere on their way to Las Vegas. Taking solace at a bar, the friends end up being surprised by the hospitality of the locals. With all drinks on the house, this situation descends into a raucous party that winds up with the group offered a free night's stay in the motel complex that's alongside the bar. Unfortunately, when our protagonists wake up, they've been drugged and are tied up in a variety of torturous ways - with the 'friendly' locals being a bunch of murderous psychos.

For Anna, she awakens to find herself gagged and with her feet and hands tied up; the rope on her feet attached to one car, the rope on her hands attached to another car. What happens next is that these cars drive off in different directions, literally splitting Anna brutally in two.

Making this all the more wince-inducing, the scene itself is drawn out in a way that amps up the tension to majorly twitchy levels.
