10 Terrifying Horror Movies Based On Human Experiments
8. The Belko Experiment
Most of the movies on this list are terrifying but it's easy to still feel safe when watching, thanks to the fact that there is a large degree of separation between ordinary life and these clinical experiments. However, this movie takes that comfort and throws it by the wayside, as it invades your everyday life, by depicting the events of a horrifying experiment completed in a high-rise office block.
The Belko Experiment shows a group of eighty American workers who end up locked in their office building. A mysterious voice then sounds and orders all of the building's inhabitants to kill a certain amount of people. The scared and paranoid workers reply by doing just that, starting a massacre that's horrible to watch.
This film has often been described as "Office Space meets Battle Royale", and it's easy to understand why. The film's brutal and violent nature feels entirely opposed to the safe and mundane location, which only serves to make the movie all the more uncomfortable.
Without spoiling it, the final reveal gives a thought-provoking glimpse into the lengths that humanity will go to seek answers.
