10 Things Avengers: Infinity War Must Avoid
10. A Bloated Run-Time
It definitely feels like the majority of superhero movies these days over-extended themselves by about 20 minutes, because there are so few comic book stories worth telling that honestly need to clock in at 140-150 minutes.
With Infinity War being touted as the most epic MCU movie to date, the Russo Brothers may very well be tempted to reflect its gigantic scale in the longest run-time yet for a movie in the series. Even with so many characters to deal with, though, if the film clocks in at 160+ minutes, it's almost certainly going to end up feeling excessive and self-indulgent.
Will It Happen?: 140-150 minutes seems to be the sweet spot for the bigger MCU films so far, and hopefully the release of the fourth Avengers movie a year after Infinity War will stop the Russos from bloating this one out too much.
It probably won't clock in at more than 160 minutes, but with the likes of The Dark Knight Rises and Transformers: Age of Extinction both grossing over a billion dollars on near-three-hour run-times, it could definitely happen.
