Taking on the role of John Connor in Terminator Salvation wasnt ultimately the wisest move Christian Bale has made in his career, and not just because of the expletive-filled rant that dominated entertainment headlines around the world. Its fair to say the film wasnt as successful as all involved hoped it would be, with a middling box office return and generally negative reviews causing the stuttering franchise to come to a halt once again. Bale had concerns justifiable ones, as it would turn out about McGs ability to direct the action movie, telling the director he saw nothing in his filmography to suggest he was right for the project and demanding an overhaul of the script before agreeing to take part. Unfortunately, the 2007-08 Writers Strike came at the wrong time for all concerned, but perhaps Bale simply picked the wrong part. As a life-long motorcycle enthusiast, the actor has been involved in some meaty scrapes, the last of which left him with enough metal in his body to give Arnies T-800 a run for its money. In late-2012, Bale was involved in a serious accident, which resulted in a steel plate being put in his wrist, the insertion of a titanium clavicle and 25 screws to hold his arm together. He also chopped off the end of one of his fingers (fortunately, doctors managed to reattach it) and to this day Bale hasnt regained a full range of motion in his left arm. Is Bale the best actor in the business? Chime in with your thoughts below.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
