10 Things You Didn't Know About The Matrix

1. The Matrix Was Selected For Preservation By The U.S. Library Of Congress In The National Film Registry Archives

The enduring popularity of The Matrix is in itself enough to secure its place in movie history - 15 years may have passed but few people would deny that it's held up considerably better than many of its peers. And while it didn't win quite as many awards as perhaps those involved would have liked (although four Oscars is nothing to complain about), it has been granted a status that only the best in American cinema has enjoyed. In 2012, The Matrix was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry Archives of the Library of Congress, taking its place alongside such masterpieces as Apocalypse Now to The Wizard of Oz. In the same year, A Christmas Story and Dirty Harry were also added to the collection. The Matrix is certainly in good company. Do you think The Matrix deserves its place in the National Film Registry Archives? Have any more interesting Matrix facts to share? Why not let us know in the comments below?
