10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Taken Trilogy

9. Incredibly, Liam Neeson DIDN€™T Do It For The Money

So what made Neeson change his mind: the more cynically minded might say it was probably a great big pay-check, but that would actually miss the mark a little. He wasn€™t even in it for the money when the first movie was optioned. In fact, Neeson wasn€™t convinced the film would even work at the box office, but reportedly signed on so he could spend four months in Paris and learn karate. Why not? What he actually learned was Nagasu Do, a hybrid of Judo, Akido and Ju Jitsu. But then, he did double his wages every time he made a Taken movie, starting at $5m for the first and ending with $20m for the last. Presumably they€™ll stop before he asks for $40m, even though they have left the door open for a fourth film.
