10 Things Disney Could Do Now They Own Fox
8. Ditch R-Rated Content
As previously mentioned, Disney is incredibly unlikely to reboot the likes of Alien and Predator, but what about the other R-rated content the studio has recently picked up?
The most obvious example here is Deadpool. The two Ryan Reynolds-led superhero flicks have earned over $1.5bn at the box office, but its hard to imagine a potential third installment being released under the Disney banner. Similarly, Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman movies both earned over $400m apiece, but it isn't exactly the kind of franchise filmmaking that the studio would put their name to.
While it is true that Disney don't make R-rated movies, they have made forays into more adult-orientated waters in the past, most notably their partnerships with Miramax and Touchstone Pictures. Once the Fox merger is finalized, the Mouse House could very well set up a new film division focusing on mature content, allowing them to keep the likes of Deadpool and Kingsman on our screens without compromising their family-friendly reputation.
