10 Things Harry Potter Fans Probably Didn't Know About Voldemort
8. He's Related To Harry Potter
It’s somewhat of an understatement to say that Voldemort has a slight obsession with Harry Potter. Ever since the young boy reflected his killing curse back at him as a baby, there has been a pretty long-lasting vendetta between the two wizards. But both of them might be quite shocked to learn that they actually share a common familial thread.
Yes, if you go far back enough in both Harry and Voldemort’s lineages, you’ll find that both of them descend from the Peverell family. Fans will remember the Peverells as the three brothers who were the original owners of the Deathly Hallows. Harry is descended from Ignotus Peverell, who originally possessed the Invisibility Cloak, as revealed in the final book.
And Voldemort can trace his bloodline back to Cadmus Peverell, who owned the ring that contained the resurrection stone, briefly used by Harry himself in the Deathly Hallows. The ring was passed down to Voldemort’s uncle Morfin Gaunt before the Dark Lord stole it from him.
This is certainly an interesting fact to know, although it might make any family reunions a bit awkward.
