10 Things Hotly Anticipated Films Need To Get Right In 2016

1. Batman V Superman Needs A Bit Of A Miracle

What Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice really needs is a time machine and a new director, but sadly those things just aren't available. Instead, the film needs, quite frankly, a bit of a miracle. If it doesn't want to waste the amazing potential of being a high-budget, big screen adaptation of one of the internet's favourite comic book-based arguments, Snyder is going to have to have improved a lot since Man Of Steel. Firstly, Dawn Of Justice has to have a good reason for Batman and Superman to start fighting. In fairness to the movie, it seems like it pretty much does. Depicting Superman as a very alien figure and Batman as the earth-based vigilante is a great idea, and the fact that Bruce Wayne despises Superman for his rampant destruction (thereby remedying one of Man Of Steel's most egregious issues) is clever. What the film desperately needs, however (in order for Batman's motivations not to come across as super hypocritical and contrived) is Bruce Wayne's continued awareness of destruction while fighting Superman, and ultimately Doomsday (whose presence is totally spoiled by the latest trailer). At the very least, Batman needs to be totally conflicted and/or sympathetic of Superman when the time comes for some serious city-based destruction (which we know is coming based on the trailer). And speaking of the trailer, the film needs to have something extensive up its sleeve. The latest trailer appears to spoil Batman and Superman's eventual team-up (which we all knew was coming, but still) and the latter twist that Doomsday shows up. If this doesn't happen fairly early on €“ say, around the middle of the film at the latest €“ then this is an unforgivable spoiler. Heck, we even see Lex Luther using Zod's body to create Doomsday in the first place. Dawn Of Justice needs to have vastly more plot than what's been given away in the trailers, but it looks like we might already know how the last half an hour of the film pans out.
