10 Things We Learned From Justice League: Mortal Script Leak

9. The Flash Can Carry A Movie

Jlm2 The Flash is the heart of the movie and Barry Allen a very compelling character throughout. He's the newcomer to the League, and the audience encounters the other characters through his eyes for the first time. It's great decision that works really well. Though he was as written a bit annoying at times (and would've been even more so played by Adam Brody), a script rewrite could have taken care of that problem. Up until now, DC superhero movies have been totally reliant on Batman and Superman. They haven't been able to take advantage of their many other classic characters. The Flash is a great candidate for a new breakout superhero, and Justice League: Mortal shows how this can be done successfully, since a lot of time is spent developing his character. He's the only character whose supporting cast we see, including his wife Iris Allen and a young Wally West. This adds a lot more depth to the character, especially during those scenes with his wife. At the end of the script, when he sacrifices himself to save the world, it's a great moment that could have been one of the most emotional moments in a superhero movie ever filmed. And because of the aforementioned presence of Wally West, he has a natural successor for the sequel. If Warner Bros. is going to use a "new" character to focus on in a Justice League movie, the Flash is a great choice.
