10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Daredevil

7. His Original Costume

People have already been complaining about the outfit Matt Murdock dons in all of the Daredevil marketing material Marvel and Netflix have put out so far and, to be fair to them, they do have a point. One of the things Ben Affleck's version got right was in bringing that comic book costume into live action, maintaining the horned mask and scarlet colouring whilst giving it a tough, leather motorcycle clothes look. Charlie Cox's Daredevil, meanwhile, looks a bit like a kid in his pyjamas pretending to be a ninja. Which, to be fair, is a get-up Matt Murdock wore during his wilderness years spent being trained by a ninja, before graduating to his €œproper€ superhero duds. So there's still time for the Netflix series to get there. What it probably won't include is the original costume the comic book Daredevil wore, whose garish combination of red and bright yellow has been a source for constant hee-larious jokes about Matt Murdock's visual impairment in the years since. It looks oh so bad.
