10 Things You Need To Know About Joel Schumacher's Batman Triumphant

10. The Whole Cast Would've Come Back

At least, that was the assumption, based on preproduction work by Joel Schumacher before Batman & Robin came out and spoiled his chances. The Batman Triumphant script by Mark Protosevich (who you might remember from I Am Legend, Thor, and the unnecessary Spike Lee Oldboy remake) brought back all the usual faces. So, Chris O'Donnell was set to reprise his role of Robin for a third time, with Clooney apparently in line to don the cowl once more. Alicia Silverstone was in the mix again as Batgirl, in this case the inquisitive niece of Alfred (who would be Michael Gough again, one of the few carry overs from the Burton films). The over carry over was Pat Hingle as Comissioner Gordon, a piece of inspired casting that none of the Batman films €“ neither Burton's nor Schumacher's €“ did enough with. Despite apparently wanting to take a different tone with Batman Triumphant, all the usual suspects were on board.
