7. It's Set Twenty-Two Years After The Events Of Jurassic Park
Whilst lots of people assumed that Jurassic World might have been a reboot of the entire franchise, there were those who clung to the notion that it would be a continuation of the original story. To those faithful few, we can confirm that their aspirations for a sequel and not a reboot were not in vein. That's right: Jurassic World picks up twenty-two years after the first movie. The official plot synopsis reads:
"Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by the Patel Corporation. Owen, a member of Jurassic World's on-site staff, conducts behavioural research on the Velociraptors. After many years, Jurassic World's attendance rates begin to decline and a new attraction, created to re-spark visitor interest, gravely backfires."
