10 Things You Need To Know About Tim Burton's Superman Lives

1. There's A Documentary About The Whole Thing

The whole saga of Jon Peters' involvement in the project is weird enough as it is (he also insisted audiences don't see Superman fly, and he never wears a costume either, since both apparently looked €œfaggy€). But that's just a small part of Superman Lives, one of the strangest unproduced blockbusters in the history of Hollywood. Which is what made The Death Of Superman Lives such an exciting release.

Funded through Kickstarter a couple of years ago, this documentary interviews basically everyone involved in the project €“ Tim Burton, Nicolas Cage, Kevin Smith, even comic book writer Grant Morrison €“to try and figure out what the hell happened.

There's also a whole cache of previously unseen preproduction art and costume tests. Seriously, there is nothing weirder than Superman Lives.
