10 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Daniel Craig's Bond Movies

4. Skyfall Is Horribly Sexist

People don't want to admit that one of the better, newer Bond movies is inherently sexist. Unfortunately, you only have to watch the movie once to realise that such a fact is glaringly obvious. Skyfall takes the good work done by Casino Royale and Quantum and flips it. This article has already touched on the awkward scene shared between a former sex slave and Bond (you know the scene - c'mon!), but there are other moments scattered throughout the movie that also nudge Skyfall into territory of the unmistakably sexist kind. Given that so much has been made about these Craig movies and their "modernisation" of Bond, then, is it really okay to forgive plot happenings such as Moneypenny, a field agent, finding herself positioned behind a desk under the appointment of a new male M? Speaking of a new male M, how are audiences supposed to react to the idea that the female M, played by Judi Dench, is killed off and replaced by a male by the end of the film? It's a shame that Skyfall, forthright in so many other ways, failed in this regard.
