4. The Unforgivable Curses

The Imperius Curse is the one you can use to make people do things they wouldn't normally want to. The Cruciatus Curse is the one where you can torture people, and The Killing Curse is quite self-explanatory. So, basically, with magic manipulation, torture and murder become incredibly easy. They're mentioned numerous times throughout the Harry Potter books, and many of the main characters (and helpless spiders) are subjected to their effects. In the real world, it would just take one crazy person to wipe out an entire country. And there are a lot of crazy people in the real world.
