10 Things To Avoid If You Want To Survive A Slasher Movie
3. Relying On The Car
One of the most nerve-racking moments in horror movies is when the protagonist tries to escape the claws of death by heading to what might seem like the next logical safe haven, the car. But as luck would have it, upon struggling to enter the vehicle, they soon realise that a knife wielding man is not the only problem on their radar because the car refuses to start.
For one, car batteries in slashers always yield to the strange and inconvenient cranking engine noise, a force that’s sure to leave you stranded in your moment of need. So it might be good practice to pay a preemptive visit to a mechanic (who is probably an axe murderer anyway).
On top of that, keep in mind that most movie people never make it into the car in the first place. Although they get close, they tend to always lose their keys right at a crucial moment. To be fair, fear does make people frantic yet it's amazing how many killings can be easily attributed to dropped keys.
In short, consider taking the bus, the next time you're being attacked by a masked killer.
