10 Things To Expect From Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3

10. Ant-Man (July 7, 2015)

Even though Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the currently-shooting Ant-Man is the ending point for Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the project warrants a mention given that it will more than likely deal with some of the fallout from Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as introducing several important new characters into the studio's cinematic canon. Despite the disappointment surrounding Edgar Wright's departure from the project after developing it for nearly a decade, Marvel Studios have yet to release a bad movie and Ant-Man boasts a typically strong and charismatic cast, along with an interesting premise. Given the publicity surrounding the announcement of the Phase 3 lineup and the fact that the movie hits theaters just two months after Age of Ultron, Ant-Man could well function as more of a standalone effort than several of Marvel's previous offerings. Paul Rudd takes the lead role of Scott Lang, a petty criminal who finds himself in the possession of the Ant-Man technology developed by Michael Douglas' Hank Pym in what has been described by those involved as something akin to a heist movie, with supporting players including Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Pena. With Rudd and Adam McKay contributing to the script look for Ant-Man to adopt a lighter and more comedic tone, with the origin story firmly set to establish Rudd's Scott Lang as an important member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
