10 Things To Expect From Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3

5. Black Panther (November 3, 2017)

After being rumored for years, Marvel Studios finally announced a Black Panther solo movie for release in November 2017. Not only that, but the title character is already cast; the talented Chadwick Boseman will don the costume to play T'Challa, with early concept art showcasing a suitably bad-ass armored version of the character's classic costume. What's even more exciting is that it has been confirmed that the character won't even have to wait for his own movie to be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe; during the announcement for Captain America: Civil War it was confirmed that Black Panther will appear in the movie, with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans even engaging in a friendly game of 'rock, paper, scissors' for his services. It has since been reported that Boseman signed a five-picture deal with the studio, which immediately establishes Black Panther as one of the key figures in Marvel's Phase 3 lineup, with Kevin Feige saying the following; 'I€™ll just clarify it for you: he is definitively a big part of Civil War'. Black Panther has been teased as far back as Iron Man 2 via subtle hints and Easter Eggs, with yesterday's announcement reinforcing the rumor that the recent Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer gave us a glimpse of Andy Serkis as Klaw, who could become the villain of Black Panther's standalone feature. As to how the character fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole, it seems that both Civil War and Infinity War will have a big part to play, with Feige quoted as saying;
"Black Panther and all of Wakanda is one of the most interesting characters in Marvel history. He€™s a bit of a prince, he may even become a bit of a king, but it€™s all about how this isolationist country meets the world. Maybe it goes well, maybe it doesn€™t.€
This could mean that Black Panther's solo movie takes place against the backdrop of Wakanda, with the bigger machinations of both Civil War and Thanos' hunt for the Infinity Gems taking him Stateside to potentially team up with the rest of the Avengers in order to save the world. It seems that T'Challa will quickly become a pivotal figure in the MCU, and with a talented actor under the mask and a rich history to draw from, he could also be one of the most interesting.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
