10 Things We Learned From This Year's Super Bowl Trailers

10. X-Men: Apocalypse Will Be The Most Comic Book-y X-Men Movie Yet

Bryan Singer has never been one for embracing the comic books (Hugh Jackman has stated in the past that he forbid the actors from reading them on the set of the first X-Men), but as superhero movies have evolved, the filmmaker has had no other choice than to embrace the fantastical and up the action to deliver the kind of epic visuals audiences have come to expect from the genre. That's very much present in the Super Bowl TV spot for the movie as we get just a glimpse of Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse unleashing devastation upon the world as he looks to cleanse it for the mutant race. His plan is obviously going to include nuclear missiles, but even more interesting than that reveal are the shots we get of the rest of the cast. There's Psylocke using her psionic blade to cut through a car, Cyclops unleashing an optic blast, and Angel taking on the teleporting Nightcrawler in what seems to be an all out brawl. This is clearly a very different Singer to the one we've been used to, and it's now clear that both Batman v Superman and Captain America: Civil War have some serious competition for which release will ultimately be crowned 2016's best superhero movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnu06cIUpMs
