6. He Only Speaks Three Lines

In his 8.5 minutes of screen time, Maul speaks just three lines of dialogue, spending almost all of his screen time either listening, walking or standing quietly, or fighting.

What's extra interesting is that Maul actually has a very memorable, intense monologue about fear that was used in TV spots but never actually made it into the final movie.

Furthermore, Peter Serafinowicz has stated in an interview that he actually recorded much more dialogue for Maul that never ended up in the film.

Presumably there are more scenes of Maul speaking locked in a LucasFilm vault somewhere, but considering the main reason for Benicio Del Toro bailing from the part, it's clear that the shooting version of the character was always going to be a man of few words.
